Content Guidelines
Revision 0
Updated: January 7th, 2025
Effective: January 7th, 2025
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of our users, we ask everyone to follow a few simple rules when posting content. These guidelines must be followed at all times when using our services. Failure to comply with our guidelines may result in penalties. We don't like enforcing penalties, but they're necessary to protect the community.
Please note that some services may include additional guidelines on top of these. Our Terms of Use must be respected everywhere.
1. Be Kind and Respectful
We want the EBA Network to be a positive space where everyone feels included.
- No hate speech or harassment. Don't post content that promotes violence or hostility based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or other personal characteristics.
- No bullying, intimidation, or threats. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Targeted harassment, threats, or stalking will not be tolerated.
- Respect people's boundaries. Don't share personal information (doxing) or make anyone feel unsafe.
2. Keep it Age-appropriate
Users as young as 13 are allowed on the EBA Network, so all content should be appropriate for teens and younger audiences.
- Use content warnings. If your content might upset anyone or isn't appropriate for ages 13+, a content warning is required.
- No sexual content. Do not post any content involving sexual encounters, including text, images, and other forms of media.
- Use appropriate language. Cursing is allowed on our services, but please mark excessive swearing with a content warning.
- No harmful content. Content promoting self-harm or suicide is strictly forbidden.
3. Respect the Law
You must follow all local laws, as well as the laws of the State of New York, while using our services.
- No illegal content. Posting anything illegal will result in an immediate and permanent account or IP ban. This includes copyrighted material that you don't have permission to use.
- Respect copyrights. Do not post copyrighted material you do not have permission to use, and do not use our intellectual property without our permission.
- Don't spread misinformation. Misleading or false information can harm the community, so don't post content that you know is untrue or deceptive.
- No spamming, scamming, or advertising. All content must be written in good faith and should be constructive. Do not spam our services with garbage. Do not distribute malware or other malicious content. Do not post for the sole purpose of advertising another product or service.
- Abide by the Terms of Use. You must uphold our Terms of Use while using our services. Do not encourage others to violate our rules.
4. Privacy
Don't post personal information about yourself or others without consent. "Doxing" (sharing someone else's personal information) is prohibited. While we do our best to protect users' privacy, be mindful of what you share. Publicly posting sensitive info like passwords or addresses puts you and others at risk.
5. Ensuring Safety and Integrity
To keep our community safe, we may take action if you break these rules.
- Warning: For most minor, first-time offenses, you'll receive a warning, and the content will be removed.
- Temporary or Permanent Restrictions: If violations continue, you may lose the ability to contribute for a set time or permanently.
- Account Suspension: For serious or repeated violations, your account could be temporarily or permanently disabled.
- IP Ban: If multiple accounts from the same IP address are banned, we may block that IP from accessing the site.
6. Reporting Violations
Help us keep the EBA Network safe by reporting violations of these guidelines. If you see something that doesn't seem right, you can report it through our Contact Form. Select "Feedback > Report Abuse" as the reason when creating a ticket.
7. Appeals and Disputes
We believe in second chances. If you think an action against your account was taken by mistake or was unfair, you can appeal it through our Contact Form. When submitting your appeal, select "Account Issues > Enforcement" as the reason.
Final Thoughts
The EBA Network is a community where people from all walks of life can share and engage. These guidelines help us keep it a safe, friendly, and fun space.
